Last year, was difficult for working in the flower beds. A step outside the door meant being swarmed by mosquitoes. My gardens suffered for it. This year though, has been quite the opposite.
Though we aren't rich by any means, we like our little home. A small cape cod was built in 97. This spring we replaced our worn out white shutters with the burgundy, which cozied up the front of the house. Pulling out all the weeds, planting new flowers, adding little touches and wood chips seemed to bring our home back to life.

Your garden is just beautiful, and your home looks so very cozy! So glad you shared these pretty things! Morning glories almost always remind me of my grandmother. Yours are absolutely lovely.
I am afraid my garden is feeling a bit neglected this year. I have no excuses...laziness? Is that an excuse? LOL!
Have a good one!

Everything looks nice. Did you have to water this year? Morning glories and I do not mix. They wind around everything and take over. I pull them as fast as they come up! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
You have a lovely home and garden! So welcoming!Heat here is just too much to try to work outside. Course I have a ways to go before I can even try any major work in our sad looking beds! Hope next year will be a good one to redo the beds.
I think this is the first time I've seen a pic of your home Laurie. It's really pretty and your yard and gardens are just lovely. Thanks for sharing. Diane
Finally we get to see a picture of your home. It's very nice and it looks like you have a hug yard! Love the morning glories and the arbor, I used to grow them myself and they are so pretty. Your garden beds are beautiful. I have yard art that has seen better days also. What I did was repaint them with 3 colors closely matching and made them look real stoney and old. They look better then the original. It's so good to bring out what you already have and just spruce it up. And bark is a wonderful product just add a new layer and it all looks new. It's fun and your place looks brand new!! Nice job women!!!
I love the burgundy shutters! It's a beautiful combination with the blue. Your gardens are looking good, too.
Love your new shutters!Lucky you your morning glories are beautiful, ours didn't come up this year.
Oooooo, that morning glory! Such a beautiful color!
So happy to hear that you are able to get out and spruce things up this year. It all looks so pretty! I'm trying to do the same - between rain drops. :)
Hope you have a great week, Laurie!
Hugs,
Zuzu
Thanks for sharing pics of your garden. What a lovely little place. I love morning glories! Some of my favorites. Your garden is much neater than mine. I don't see a single weed.
