Time Fur Fun!

During this bitter cold, snowy weather, my furry kids fill
my day with entertainment.
Quite frequently, Toby loves to watch t.v.
and at times interact with the programming!
Family Feud was his choice on this particular day.
(though we have quit watching it since it is no
longer what I consider family friendly)
Daphne, whom Ken didn't want me to keep,
has become quite spoiled.  He bought her
this little outfit because she could wear it
through February.  He really does enjoy her
as much as I do.  Though quite hyper and a
major pest to the others, we all love her dearly!
Hope everyone is surviving the winter,
I know my "kids" help out that way!

Frosted Window Panes

The chicken house windows are covered in frost.
I love the leafy swirly patterns it creates.
Fortunate for the ladies, the heat lamp keeps
them cozy inside their little home.
I wonder if chickens get cabin fever?

My Word for the Year

It took a while to post it, but my word for this year is Purge.  Last year it was forgiveness, and it was a trial for me. Not only for forgiving others, but forgiving myself.  I don't know if I've been truly forgiven by anyone, but in all the terrible things that happened last year, I would hope so.  Forgiving myself though was the hard part.
This year I chose purge. I need to not only purge my house of unnecessary things, but my life in general. After the death of my sister and mother, I feel that it's time to bring more peace to my life. So here goes, I'll be letting you know how that goes.

Christmas Treasures

Today I finally decided to take down the tree,
and store my ornaments for another year.
But before I do, I want to show you
some of my favorite treasures.
Forever loved will be the ornaments
of my childhood that hung from our
family tree.  Losing Mom, I'll treasure
these always.
These are porcelain hummingbird ornaments
I collected from Bradford Exchange,
I've had these rocking horses for some time, and
hope to collect more in the future.
These two peacocks are from my nieces,
it started out as a joke several years ago,
but when they bought these for me this year
I have to say I really quite love them!
What is a tree without birds?
This gorgeous hummingbird is from
my niece Robyn.  It's so beautiful, isn't it?

These are just some of my snowmen.
And these crystals are from my son Chad.
I love how they catch the light on the tree,
and of course he knows my love
for hummingbirds!
Now the tree is packed away, and I already
look forward to next Christmas, when
they can be displayed again,
hopefully under better circumstances.

Baby It's Cold Outside!!

It's so nice being in the middle of this Arctic Blast!
 Not!
Though it is pretty, the temps are a source to
be reckoned with!
Bobby seems to enjoy it though, he loves
to roll in it.
Chip loves to tunnel through it.
Me, I love to stay inside where it's
a little warmer.
Hot coffee is my friend!
