Furry Friends Friday!

Sorry so late with the Furry Friends Friday, my computer would not let me on my blog today! If you have any pet you would like to share pictures, etc. of, join us on Fridays and show them off! Just leave your name and blog address with me and I'll put a link to yours. If you could, link back to my site also with your post! Thanks Diane and Pearl for joining in! It's not to late to post!

Hi! I'm Chip! I'm the only dog in this house who isn't a rescue. Mom bought me from a really neat family who breeds Pomeranians, but does so to maintain the integrity of my breed. I'll be 2 in March. I'm very pampered, Dad says spoiled is a word only used when someone is ruined. I'm not! I'm very much loved by Mom and Dad both, and will sit on any one's lap that I know I can trust, and that they will love me back. Or at least make me feel that way! I know I'm the king pin around here, at least to all my siblings except Lucy when she's sleeping. Then I tip toe around her son not to wake her up. When Mom says "coffee" or "brother" I know I'm going next door to Robyn's to visit. When Mom went to buy me, Robyn and Becky, her nieces went with her. All three ended up buying a puppy, so I have the privilege of being raised with my brothers! My favorite thing to eat is anything that anyone will feed me. Mom watches though to be sure I'm not getting anything I shouldn't have. Or she tries to anyway! Next week, I get to go with her again to the Pawzaar, to get my picture taken with Santa. I love all the attention I get, since she works the sale I get to stay with her for the day! So I'm sure my Santa picture will be here next week!

Annversary

Today is our 17th anniversary. On a date that was chosen by Ken because he knew he wouldn't forget my birthday the next day.I find it hard to believe we've been married that long. It seems it was just yesterday I looked out the door into the sanctuary while waiting for my walk down the aisle, to see family and friends , and several other people who were not invited, and people who rsvp'd they couldn't come sitting there. But then looking to the front, and seeing the beautiful flowers, the wedding banner on the wall, and my parents who were so happy for me, and Ken, looking so dashing in his blue dinner jacket and ivory pants, the rest didn't matter at all.

Now Ken is gray, so am I, He's a little more plump, I still am, but I can honestly say that through the spats and disagreements, occasional money problems, and differences of opinion, we have grown accustomed to each other, and fit like an old shoe. Comfortable, yet a little more worn. We love each other, and that's what matters.

Hi! My name is Lucy. or when I'm into mischief, Lucy Loo. I'm a border collie beagle mix, and am the daughter of a stray that my Mom got from the shelter. When she took her in to be spayed, the Dr. found she was already far along in a pregnancy, and Mom didn't have the heart to take our lives. My brothers and sisters all went to good homes, but Dad couldn't resist my puppy dog eyes and floppy ears. So I got to live here! I love my family, and get along good with all the other creatures that live with me, except when they come in my space. I don't like to be bothered when I'm sleeping, and I don't hurt anyone, just give my warning growl and they leave me alone. In other words my bark is worse than my bite. I have a strange appetite, I LOVE to eat tissues, bath tissue, paper towels, basically any paper product will suit me just fine. My favorite food though is sweet potatoes!!!!! I drool and shake uncontrollably just at the scent and site of them! Mom and Dad always save some for me, I would be broken hearted if they threw away the scraps without letting me have my share first.
Though I have border collie markings, the beagle in me takes precedence. I'm short, floppy eared, and have what Mom calls, the most irritating howl that seems to just fly out of my mouth for no reason at all, giving everyone in the house a start! But I have to say, living here I'm the queen. I'm pampered, adored, and loved by my humans. I'm one lucky little dog.

Quilting Nana is looking for a new iron. She has a concern with arthritis, and wants to know if anyone has suggestions or recommendations for an iron that is good quality yet lightweight enough for her to use. Please stop over to her blog if you have an idea for her. Stop over anyway, she is a very talented lady!

Furry Friends Friday

Hey it's Furry Friends Friday!I have decided to post pictures of my little companions on this day, and asked if anyone else would like to join in! Diane said yes, so go check out her little Rascal! Pearl and Wendy will also be here today, so be sure to check their posts too!

Hi! My name is Bobby..Mom was going to post about my sister Lucy today, but I was such a bad boy that she decided to post about me instead! Go figure, you're bad and you get a special place on a blog!
I'm a purebread border collie, who suffers from bordom if not constantly working to keep my home in a supervised state of madness. So today, I have been a little mischief maker. First, I barked Mom awake, not because I had to go out, but because the cat came out of the bedroom and I wasn't quite ready for that yet. So really, she had to go back into her little bed. That for some reason irritated Mom, I guess because she didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night, and wanted to catch a few extra winks this morning. Then, I got into something that she doesn't know what it was, and I'm not tellin', and gee it came up on the living room floor while Mom was next door for coffee. It wasn't a very pleasant surprise I guess, because for some reason she started gagging. Then while she was in here starting her post on Lucy, she heard me getting into the compost bucket in the kitchen. Ah yes. How could I resist the vegetable scraps awaiting in their cute little containger. I guess she wasn't happy about the scraps, cores, and coffee grounds all over her freshly washed counters and floor. Really, though I'm not a bad dog. Mom found me, or should I say I found her, when she came to the post office one day and I jumped in her car. I don't know why, I'd been living in the car port there for 2 days, and never jumped in anyone elses car. I'd pester them when they'd get out of theirs, but she just seemed to be the person I wanted to live with. So she took my dirty, wet, skinny and hungry self home with her, Dad named me Bobby the minute he saw me, and I am living the good life now. Sorry for the mess ups today Mom, but hey I know ya love me, and I am definetely here for the long run!!!!

Right Spelling, Wrong Word!

My nephew Jake did great on his spelling test! Yet he was mortified when he realized he spelled a word, but not the one his teacher asked for!

A Little Trip to the Doctor, A Comedy of Errors

And what a fun time it was. For the people in the waiting room anyway.  I went to the orthopedic surgeon today, to see what's wrong with my shoulder, arm, and neck.  When I got there, in the 95 degree waiting room, (why do stores and waiting rooms have to be so hot?)  I started my 1 1/2 hour long wait for the doctor.  Late from surgery they said.  With my x-rays in hand from 3 weeks ago, I had my first stop in the x-ray room where the tech looked at the films. "We need more" she said, the ones that were taken weren't the right ones. "So slip your bra down on the left side, and we'll take some more pictures."  OK, they were taken, turned out nice and clear she said, so go back out to the waiting room and the next exam room would be mine.  I go back and take a seat, and wait...and wait...and wait...til my sugar started to drop. I go up to the receptionist, explain that I have to go to my car for a snack in case they call my name. "Sure" she said, so I turn around and open the door which is right next to the waiting room to go outside.  Well surprise, wrong door!! I walk into an exam room where a half naked man is sitting on the table, in total shock at the intrusion.  Right in plain site of everyone in the waiting room. Snickers could be heard as I told him "So sorry, wrong door."  Well that was an awkward moment, and having to then walk back through the waiting room filled with patients to go to the exit which couldn't have been any bigger, after all the double doors were wide open! I come back in from eating my snack, and on the way through the room, I feel a little breezy. I realize I forgot to do up my bra on the left side!!!  I went into the bathroom to see that yeah, it was really noticable, one boob up and one way down.  Oh the humiliation!  I pretend that nothing embarrasing has happened over the last 10 minutes and take my seat. It's then I realize, that the man in the exam room was privy to my lopsided breasts.  My niece said I should have just pretended I worked there and asked him what I could do for him. All I could think was him saying "well I am past the breast feeding stage,"  So I finally get into the exam room, and wait...and wait...and wait... Finally the Dr.!  He looked at my x-rays, and found my problem right away. A bone spur in my rotary cuff, one in my neck, a herniated disc in the 3rd vertabre in my neck that's put pressure on the nerve going down my arm, and severe arthritis in my neck and shoulder, along with tendonitis in my arm.  No wonder I've been in so much pain!  He orders up and MRI, therapy, an ultra-sound, a round of steroids, anti-inflamatories and pain killers, and a shot.  The shot was surprisingly not bad at all, his P.A. is a pro. I didn't even know he had done it, he numbs the whole area first.  Well after I'm done, I go back to the receptionist. I'm talking to her, she turns to her computer to type in the orders, and I started feeling faint. Without a word, I go outside since I didn't want to make a fool of myself anymore than I had, and when she turned around I was gone. Ken, not knowing to finish the business at the counter, grabbed my coat and followed me out.  When we get home, there's a message on the answering machine:  "Mrs. Nuske, I don't know what happened but you disappeared before I was done with you. Please come back for you prescriptions, and set up your therapy"  Oh what a day. And I had already told everyone there that my niece Robyn and my daughter-in-law used to work there.  Robyn said to me, "and I suppose this all happened after you told them we were related!?  Sorry Robyn! You may not want to go visit for awhile!
