Lady Slippers

We found these Lady Slipper orchids on our property, they are an endangered species, protected by the federal government. They're safe here, and amazing to look at.

Oh, Laurie, you're so lucky to have those. I remember seeing some and some jack in the pulpits when I was very little but they're gone from that spot now. Are you far from where Gene Stratton Porter lived, I think it was Michigan, the Limberlost swamps(?)
