Random Shots

Can you guess what it is?
Chip looking out the cat door, scared of
the vacuum cleaner!
Pretty profile of Tyler,
however, what he was looking at
wasn't.  It was a wolf spider on
the ceiling. I won't gross you
out with that.
However,
are you grossed out by the first?
It's Andy's tail peaking out of
my blanket!

I Don't Understand

I don't understand
how this world has become
so full of hate.
I don't understand
how a love of weapons take
precedence over compassion
and love for fellow human beings
who are the victims of violence.
I don't understand
how groups of non believers
can start movements
and promote laws that take
any religious artifact
out of public buildings.
I don't understand
how one nation, under God,
can turn its back on those
who are less fortunate.
And one thing I am really
having a hard time with,
is how there are so many
filled with hate,
who escape every
consequence for their actions,
while one who is a man
of the cloth, who has dedicated
his entire life to God,
can be inflicted with such a
horrifying, fatal disease
as ALS, and doomed
to a horrible, inhumane death.
I don't understand.
I just don't understand.
And it's breaking my heart.

Good-bye Annette

Every day after school,
I couldn't wait to get home
and watch
The Mickey Mouse Club.
I love the mousketeers,
and was a great fan of
Annette.
Later, her movies were
so much fun!
Annette was such an inspiration
for all young women.
She will be greatly missed,
and very fondly remembered.
Rest in Peace, Annette.

St. Patricks Day Fun!

Last night, we went to my sister Wendy's for
St. Patrick's Day party. What a riot!
We all had to wear something Irish,
Here is Mom at the photo booth

All of us gathered for a group picture.
Ken and I had a riot!
He found an old sweatshirt, re-vamped it, and
claimed he stole it from a Leprechaun.
All us sisters took a turn with a photo!

Stair Makeover!

My niece Robyn and her husband bought our old farm house when we had our home built next door.  This  staircase was enclosed with a door going upstairs. They took down the wall, to show the banister and enlarge the dining room.  That left a gaping hole under the stairs, perfect for storage.  Robyn told Jay how she wanted the hole enclosed, and he built this fantastic shelving unit complete with a perfect size door for access to the space. Robyn had him put a glass doorknob that was on one of the homes original doors to open it. It turned out beautiful!  The original pinewood floors were uncovered, and refinished. Not bad for a home well over 100 years old!
