Update on the Update That Was Updated!!

Well I just got back from the doctor, and here is the prognosis: severe tendenitis, arthritis, and narrowing of the something that I don't remember what he said.  Then he showed me where all these are located on my arm and shoulder, and gave me my options. First, a steroid shot. Forget that, they'd have to pick my fainted body off the floor. Second, take steroids for nine days, there we go, I can do that, if the syptoms worsen or don't seem to be getting any better during that time, I will have to go have an MRI done to see if it is the rotor cuff. You were right on with that one Lola! I told him I'd do that, and during that time I can do basically nothing with my left arm. NO lifting, crafts, driving, riding in the car, nothing!! I'm not supposed to use the computer unless I can comfortably type with one hand.  The great thing about all of that!? NO dishes!!!!! My husband will be slave to the kitchen, I will have to supervise though to be sure he is loading the dishwasher properly, I'm very picky about that!  And NO laundry!!  And NO cleaning the toilet or scouring the sinks!! Dear Hubby gets a taste of it all, and I get to be the boss! Ah life is wonderful. The pain in my arm is transfered to my pain in the.....well maybe I won't go that far, but after all he is retired and now he gets to see life on the other side of the fence. And he is a good sport.  On the down side, I get to walk around smelling like Pepto Bismal from the cream I must put on my arm, and up the hotflashes from having my arm glued to the heating pad.  but hey! It's worth it to be rid of it!

How it's going, or not

Well here we go with another week of fun.  Our insurance doesn't cover chiropractic care, and we can't afford it, so dr. put me on muscle relaxers which are taking their sweet time kicking in.  I was referred to a specialist, and my appointment is for, get this, November 3rd. What!? You're kidding me!! I'm on the cancellation list, so hope that brings it closer.  Thanks for all your support and prayers again, you are all so special.
Blessings, Laurie

Update

Thank-you to all of you for your prayers, and well wishes.  You are all special friends, and my angels.  Unfortunately, I am not feeling any better, in fact the pain in my arm is getting worse.  I've done everything the doctor has said, but am slowly going out of my mind.  I'm going to see if our insurance covers a chiropractor, I don't know what else to do.  Please keep the prayers coming, those I can feel..  Thank-you my special friends,
Blessings,
Laurie

It Was Funny at the Time,

Yes, so we all thought.  I was visiting my brother and sister-in-law along with my sisters a week ago .  I pulled up a chair and was talking to Wendy, when suddenly, the chair leg gave way and I went down to the floor, on my side. (Thank-you my friends for allowing me to feel comfortable enough to share this humiliation!)  Of course there were cameras handy to catch this moment, and as one who falls often, if there is a chance to capture my tumbles those chances are taken.  We were all laughing, after all I thought I wasn't hurt, and frankly, it was funny how it happened. One minute your sitting there in the middle of a conversation, and the next your on the floor.  Well, to make a long story short, for the past week the pain was getting progressively worse, so I went to the dr.  I had an x-ray done today to determine if there is a fracture in my shoulder, almost passed out and was in tears by the time I was done. I'm on drugs for swelling and pain.  I had to cancel our trip to Pat Winters embroidery class because I am totally unable to drive, I can't use my arm so I can't do any of my crafts, which is killing me. The pain is more than I can bear, and I'm going out of my mind.  Right now, my pain medication has kicked in enough that I can be on the computer for a few minutes, so am letting you know that I'm not ignoring any of you, it's just extremely uncomfortable to sit in this chair as it aggravates my shoulder and arm.  Please pray for me, I can't take this much longer!

O.K., it's not the greatest picture, after all trying to take a picture of your right arm with your left hand is not that easy of a task! However, I thought it time to come out of the tatoo closet.  Yes, I have a tatoo. On my arm. My forearm. My right forearm. Yes, I did it.  Two years ago, I decided to fulfill my dream of being daring and getting a tat.  So I had this done in memory of my father, who by the way hated tatoo's.  But I did it anyway.  I wanted this on my back on the shoulder, but because my cat, who rode on my shoulders had destroyed it with scratch marks, I couldn't have it placed there. But I was not leaving without my tatoo.  So I daringly had it placed on my forearm.  It has special meaning to me.  Our father was a beekeeper, gardener, and butterflies were our symbol for him.  He had written a special puppet script and show about the butterfly.  It was beautiful, and at Dad's funeral, we all wore butterfly pins.  So that's why this is so special to me.  Did it hurt?  Hardly.  Was I scared?  Surprisingly no.  Would I do it again? In a heart beat.  Am I any different now than before I got it? Nope.  I'm still me.

Give Away from Marilyn!

I won!! Marilyn  had a terrific give away on her blog Delights of the Heart, and I can't believe I won!  My package arrived today, and it's so perfect, and so beautiful!  From her linen collection, I received the most awesome tablecloth with tea pots appliqued on it, and beautiful embroidery. Two dainty doilies, two quilt squares that are going to make some really beautiful pillows, and a gorgeous crocheted apron that has the most unique and  pretty pattern.  It couldn't be more perfect!  Thank-you Marilyn for making my day even more special!
