Rest in Peace Mr. Jobs

Yesterday, I had heard that Steve Jobs had died. My first response was,"who's he?" I had never heard the name before, and couldn't understand the media attention. Then, I listened and watched the commentaries, the stories of his life, and the amazing things he had done. I had no idea. I heard him compared to Edison and Einstein. One of the greatest inventors of our time. I had no idea that not only was he a co-founder of Apple, but he also was the mastermind behind Pixar.
Pancreatic cancer took a great man. He brought technology to the world with his genius and determination. Steve, you will be missed. Rest in peace.

Morning Rituals

Letting the chickens out in the morning is a ritual I look forward to everyday. And each morning, I have all these little faces looking through the coop window, waiting patiently for me to open the door and let them go.

And whether they choose to file out the gate,

Or talk over the fence, I love to watch. They are my peeps!

MIA

I know I've been missing in action for a couple weeks. Things have been busy here. Then, for some odd reason, everytime I get on the computer to blog, my hand automatically hits Pinterest, and for what seems like an eternity, I'm browsing, pinning and re-pinning! What a strange addiction, but if you haven't joined in yet, give it a try!

It seems my chair is the favorite hangout for my cats, dogs, let alone me. Andy and Toby are here for a snooze, and an ear washing!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week-end, I am here except for the cold damp winds. But my heart was warmed by a phone call from my sister in law announcing the birth of my new great nephew!! Brylan James arrived this morning, and I can't wait for the pictures to start rolling in. Congratulations Eric, Glorybelle, Jay and Cheryl!!

Sunday Sermon

A short time out

I'll be taking a breather for a few days, going up to see my brother and sister-in-law! I haven't been there all summer, and I'm having withdraws! See you Tuesday, or Wednesday, or Thursday...hmmmm whenever I feel like coming home!

Wood or White?

I was reading Wendy's blog, The Crafters Apprentice, and it gave me the inspiration to fix up this antique doll bed I had gotten at a friends yard sale. So here is my dilemma.

I'm not sure whether to leave it untouched, as it is antique and I like the wood, or paint it a nice clean white as it would be much nicer. So what do you think? Wood, or white!?

An Unexpected Surprise

When I went to my mailbox yesterday, this letter from my great niece Kayla was placed on top of my mail. Little things like this make my heart so happy, to know you have the love of a child is the most awesome feeling in the world!
