Vacation!

Well I'm off today for my adventure up to my brother's house in Mikado, a little town in the northern lower peninsula. He is a very special person, built a business from doing what he is most passionate about. He teaches Native American skills, and travels all over the United States. He also built a log cabin on his property, back in the forest. The old way, it took him 5 years. I have a link on this blog if you would like to see it, and the other amazing things he does. His canoes are awesome! No modern tools, built the same way natives did. Jay (or Jim to everyone but his sisters, it's our term of endearment!) has been on t.v. many times, has written a book, and has had countless newspaper articles. Check out the site! I'm very proud of him! His wife Cheryl is the bomb! (does anyone say that anymore!?) Her and I love to do our quilting, and with the coffee and conversation flowing, along with her sense of humor, I know it's going to be hard coming back.!
See you on Wednesday night, pictures in hand!!
Blessings,
Laurie

Home from Iraq!

My nephew Matthew arrived home to a fanfare last night, He completed his deployment to Iraq. Just a scrawny thing when he originally left for bootcamp, we made him show off his newly acquired "guns". Welcome home Matt! We love you and we sure missed you!

Wood Harvesting!

My great niece Kayla, helped her Uncle Jason collect logs from the downed trees on the property today. What a cutie!

Halloween Cutie Patooties

Jenna was the cutest litle lady bug.

My niece Claire, she was Pebbles for Halloween. You just can't help but smile when these wee ones enter a room.
