I love to do cakes. This week-end, I have a wedding shower cake, and a sample wedding cake tier to do. I was looking back through my pictures of past cakes, and thought I would share one of my favorites.
This princess cake was done for my grand daughter Tara, several years ago. The carriage is a sugar mold, and the doll body is in royal icing. Some day, I'll have an occasion I hope, to do this one again!
This tree was also a really fun cake, made for my friends birthday. The cake was stacked and cut into shape, then fondant was sculpted around, and the decorations were also in fondant. Click on the picture to see the little squirrels. I'm looking forward to the wedding cake I'll be doing, and will show you a sneak preview this week-end!

What a cute cake! I used to decorate cakes too, but carpal tunnel slowed me down. After surgery I just do cakes for the family. Can't wait to see the wedding cake.

these are amazing....you are a cake artist!
I didn't know you did cakes, too, Laurie. These are cute. Do you know why or how I ended up with your three comments on my mail?? Diane
Fantastic cakes Laurie, so much work but obviously a labor of love to you. I had no idea you did cakes? Or I forgot, I'm betting on the memory thing. So much fun to see your talent. Much love, Pearl Hi Wendy! How's your sweet daughter?
You may be making the carriage cake for Claires next birthday the way she loves Cinderella!
hahahaha! I got some of your comments too! What's up with that?
Anyway, I totally agree with the commenters..these are amazing cakes!
Cute cakes! Laurie, some of your posts are coming to my inbox for some reason. I see that they are also posted here. Have no idea how that could happen....maybe something is not set right on your end. I don't want you to miss any comments!
