The Day Came

I remember clearly the day I visited Grandma, and watched as she did her sewing. I loved to go through her sewing box, looking at all the pretty threads, flosses, newspaper patterns and notions. I asked her what the little metal thing was, and she said it was for threading her needles, because when you get older, it's hard to see the tiny little holes to put the thread through. She then showed me how to use it. As I watched her with my perfect 20/20, I thought how I would never be "that old" and never have to use such a thing to thread a needle. When Grandma passed, I was fortunate enough to receive her sewing box, and all the wonderful things it contained, including the needle threader. I'm using it today, and don't know how I would be doing any embroidery or sewing without it! No matter how close or far away I hold the needle, the eye is lost! Thank-you Grandma for the most valuable notion in the box!

I love old sewing boxes too! I´m sitting here putting together buttons and lace for my OWOH prize! I have been in bed with the flue so not much have been done around here but I will try to send this tomorrow. And I have a question for You. Do You have an alternative email address or perhaps a friends? ...it would be easier to mail the photos. and a second question: how many photos? About the lace...some are shorter some are longer but I guess this is like a crazy quilt so it doesn´t matter?

Looking forward to hear from You
cheers
