End of an Era

Wow. It's hard to believe that Dick Clark has died.  As a teenager, American Bandstand was a Saturday standard.  The bands and groups that debuted on his show were a big hit to my sisters and I.  I remember the Jackson 5, The Osmond Brothers, and The Commodores just to name a few.  I loved Rate a Record, where a new song was played and dancers had to rate how well they thought it would do.  His voice, his charm, his never aging appearance will remain unforgettable to me.
I loved watching $10,000 and $100,000 Pyramid, and still watch in syndication. And of course, New Years Eve in Times Square.
He'll be missed, by the generations that got to know him.
We'll miss you Mr. Clark,  God Grant You Eternal Peace.

Mini Vacation

I just returned from a mini vacation north to see my brother and sister in law. An added bonus, I got to meet my nephew Kevin's wife, Crystal, and my grand niece, Rainy Marie!
Rainy turned one today, and is a little punkin!  She has the biggest blue eyes, and smiley personality.
just like her Mom!
My brother Jay has been busy for the past several months building a sauna, in the traditional skills way, same as the cabin.  It turned out amazing. He even made the shingles for the roof from fallen trees on his property.
The inside is so beautiful, and smells heavenly.  The stove heats the sauna to the perfect temps,
for a cleansing sweat bath.  Not for me though as I really have a low tolerance for heat and humidity.  But to admire the results of his hard work is enough for me.  He never ceases to amaze me!

Mom Meets Isabella

Isabella is my sister Wendy's new grand daughter!
The perfect little bundle of joy.
Mom was able to visit Wendy today and meet Isabella during her home evaluation.  To say Mom was awestruck with her is an understatement.  It was love at first site.  Now to get Mom back to Wendy's, which will be in one week.

Love Struck!

I have a new great niece!  Welcome Isabella Camille!

Dual Purpose

When we moved Mom to my sisters, I took possession of her once used craft basket. I thought is was basically filled with some knitting and some pillow top projects she once worked on. When I went through the basket today, much to my surprise I found lots of lace and trims, muslin and other fabrics perfect for backing my crazy quilting, padding, and a couple crochet books from way back. As a lace hoarder, yes, hoarder, I was quite pleased with my find. So I carefully folded my acquisitions and put them back into the basket. I also had a chair cushion I was going to put in the humane society bazaar box, but decided to put it on top to protect the contents, and also give Toby a new place to nap! Perfect! Of course it's up to him whether he wants to share his new bed with his brothers and sister, the same as me, if I decide to share my stash with my sisters! I guess.

Faith?

This year I chose the word "Faith". Since my mother's illness, it seemed the perfect word. I stand by that choice. (Mom is doing well and should be out of rehabilitation therapy by next week!)
But many questions come up that I'm sure some of you can relate with.
Having faith, or relying on faith, is much harder when put to the test. How do you handle the worry and fear, after giving concerns for others over to God? How do you keep from taking back what you gave Him in trust, with faith that He will answer? And what if His answer doesn't come fast enough, or with the outcome one desires? Without going into any personal details, this concerns someone very close to me, with consequences that can be devastating if God doesn't intervene. I can't help but be in constant stress and worry. How do you stand your ground with faith in God to take care? Any feed back would be so appreciated.
Blessings to All
