A Pleasant and Awesome Surprise!

You know how sometimes you get aggravated with your husband, yet you still love him? And then he does something that totally blows you out of the water, and makes you feel like the most special person in the world? Well, that happened to me today. While talking to my sister this morning, Ken came in from the post office and said the book he wanted me to read had arrived. He then handed me this booklet. I asked what it was, and he handed me a box saying it "went with this". I opened it and started to shake! This was what was in it!!!!!!!
I couldn't believe it! A brand new Lumix, with lenses. Then he gave me another box, and that had the zoom lense in it! I can't believe it!! Really! I have a lot to learn with this, Ken is helping me right now, but here are some pics I took, and as you can see I have a long ways to go! But will have plenty of time to perfect before our trip west.

I love this picture of Chip though, the clover is popping right out of the picture!

A Special Visitor

While at our friends house this evening, this deer, who is a common visitor, was outside the great room window, feasting on squirrel food that fell from the feeder. It was quite the treat to see her so close up, and to have her look right at the camera.

Furry Friends Friday, and Give Away!

Remember the vintage doll bed I bought for $3? Well Mitzy has claimed it as her own. This is where she sleeps away the hours.

I won't put a doll in it, after all, she has her own blanket, and pillow. Fit for a queen!

Kitty and Me Give Away!

Kitty and Me is having an awesome give away on her blog! If you like crazy quilting, you'll love this. Pop on over and see her beautiful offering, and enter to win!

What do a Stereo, a 65lb. border collie, and a bag of kitty litter have in common?

The players: Stereo cabinet. In the early 70's, when stereos were very popular, my father built one. He painstakingly patterned, cut pieces of wood, and veneered this beautiful cabinet with the speakers the right width apart for quality sound. When we moved mom, we took the cabinet for sentimental reasons.
Bobby: Some of you may recall that Bobby was abandoned, and living in the car port of the post office. He jumped in my car, and instantly became a permanent member of our family.
Fresh Step Kitty Litter: I asked Ken to pick some up as we were running out, and he obliged. Unfortunately, he picked up four 30 lb. bags, of regular, not scoop-able as with 4 cats I need.
So let me set the scene. I wake up this morning, to find that Bobby has decided he is no longer housebroke. Ah yes. Our 65 lb. border with a HUGE bladder peed and pooped all over the floor in front of the stereo. I clean the defecation, and yell to Ken for the rest. Mr. Know it All decides a piece of paper towel will clean up the Hoover Dam burst all over my floor. Your kidding right!? So out came the kitty litter. Spread all over the floor, sops up everything, move the cabinet, more kitty litter, sweep it up, scrub the floor down, and done! So Bobby, as mad as I am that you did this, the up side? I only have three bags of kitty litter to use. Thank God for blood pressure medication!

End of a Long, Fun, Week-end

We danced,
We laughed,
We played,
We had so much fun.
But Tuesday morning, my little family heads back to Iowa. Always so exciting when they arrive, always sad when they leave. Safe journey home, please come back soon. I miss you already.

A Celebration to Remember

What a wonderful fun day today! We celebrated Chad's birthday and 4th of July at Robyn's. It's hard to believe he is 35 already. It doesn't seem like that long ago that he was born. Visiting from Iowa, I hate the thought of him going home.

Chad loves to tease the kids, well harass more like it, and had fun terrorizing my grand daughter Kiley on the trampoline.

Then soon it was popsicle time, and Jenna was the picture of cuteness with hers!

After a fireworks show, it was time to dance.
My grand daughters Kiley and Tara busting a move!
The Electric Slide...
Gets everyone on the floor! And my little family didn't fail in the entertaining department! What a great time. Family and friends, together to celebrate life, and liberty.
