Life can take so many different routes, twist and turns one would never expect.
This has happened in my life.  When I was in eighth grade,
I joined a youth group at a friends church.
One day I stood in the pulpit in the sanctuary, and had to give a short talk.
It was at that moment I knew that one day I would like to become a pastor.
Well, I'm humbled and honored to say, that dream has come true.
I am set to begin my journey to become a local pastor in
the United Methodist Church.
Something I would never have thought possible,
yet through the Grace of God,
I am starting that journey.   I ask your prayers as I begin this process,
and look forward to the day I can serve God as one of his teachers.
Blessings to everyone,
Laurie

Rescued and Loved!

Anyone who knows Ken and I, know that
we have rescued many dogs in the past,
and also our cats.
This is BoBo, our latest addition.
His mother died, and we took him in.
BoBo is actually the father of our little Daphne.
If it weren't for their collars, there are
many times I wouldn't be able to tell them apart!
Daphne is only a few months old in this picture,
she is five now.  I really need to take
a recent one!  Chihuahua and rat terrier mix,
these two have quite the attitude, and are
so much fun!

Pastie With a Purpose

Well anyone living in Michigan knows that this summer has been a hot and humid one.  I think though by the sounds of it the whole U.S. has had the same weather!  Today I was at our church for our scrabble day.  Needless to say, the inside was no better than the out, and having no air in the building was of no help.  After sitting there with sweat streaming from every pore, and starting to feel the humidity and heat take its tole on me, I decided to take the advice my sister (God rest her soul) gave me a long time ago.  Put something cold on the back of your neck to help cool the blood and thus cool yourself off.  So a trip to the kitchen was in order to find some ice.  Finding none in the freezer, I noticed some left over pasties from our sale.  Well, that was a solution I thought; took the pastie wrapped in foil, put it on the back of my neck and put a towel around it to hold it in place.  Ahhhh!  It worked, I was able to sit comfortably and with the fan on my back I cooled right down.  Well, about 2 hours in, I noticed something felt weird;  (Like sitting there with a pastie on my neck wasn't enough weirdness, though it added some levity to the rest of our group) I went to adjust the pastie and found what felt weird!  The foil had ripped, the pastie broke and I had the ingredients all over my neck!  Well regardless of the mess, I sure did smell good!  Next time I'll put it in a plastic bag!

Well I'm back.  A year is long enough.
Anxious to get re-aquainted with everyone,
and see what you've been up to.
I'm changing the name of my blog to
"Tails from the Dog House."
We've fostered several, and have 3 adopted dogs
right now, along with Chip who has been with us
for 10 years now.   I still have my 3 cats, so yes
there are plenty of tails around here!
How are things going with you!?
