How Does Your Garden Grow

Flowers bloomed on this needlebook cover made for a blog friend.

Butterflies have made their presence known, finally, in my gardens, like this Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.
And this monarch butterfly posed for me with wings outspread!
I forget what these are, but it was so pretty perched on this wild flower against the wooden fence. For more How does Your Garden Grow, visit Pigtails and Quilts!

As One Curtain Closes, Another Opens

As I sit here in my craft room, I hear the crickets outside my window, and I get the somber thought that fall is arriving, and soon the crickets, frogs, and summer birds will be silenced. And the long wait til Spring and their return will be such a yearning. So I'll spend as much time as I can outdoors, soaking in the sites and sounds of summer, as the days shorten. But Fall brings her beauty, and there will be a new season to take in the aroma's and sites. The turning of the seasons is beautiful in Michigan, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Miss Pearl Was Right!

After Toby was neutered, he left the house for living outside. I was distraught at the fact that he had just been fixed, and now he was running away. When I saw he was living in the wood pile, I was more relieved, but he was in no way going to come back inside. Miss Pearl said that after enjoying his freedom, he would rejoin the family.
And he has! He sleeps inside most of the day, then goes out to be with his peeps. Toby then comes in for the night, sleeping on the cat blanket on my bed. Again, I have my affectionate, loving and loyal cat back. All is well!

Free Graphics

My niece found a border at a garage sale, and I scanned the four pictures on it for my crazy quilting projects. I'd like to share them with you, if you have a project you could use them on, feel free to use them!

I'm Taking a Walk!

On November 19th, I'm taking a walk. The 5k is is a fundraiser for St. Jude's Hospital. Childhood cancer is a devastating disease, of which thousands of children suffer. St. Jude's charity is one Ken and I support, and this is another way to contribute. So I'm in the process of not only raising funds, but getting myself in shape for the walk! I have formed a team, Walking Warriors, and we will participate in the walk in Okomos, MI, just outside Lansing. We can't wait to join in the event, and help make a difference to these kids and their families. For more information, go to St. Jude's site. I can't wait!!

Toby and His Peeps

Since the chickens first came out of their coop to discover the outdoors, Toby has been there.

He has been know to sit in the coop with them, and he follows them, or they follow him, however you want to see it.
They share the water,
and when Robyn's chickens come to visit, he makes sure they don't enter the yard and bother his ladies and gent. I don't know if this makes Toby a chickat, or the chickens catkens. Whatever they are, it works, and they're all happy.
