Peace and Quiet

Over the years, I have become a person who loves peace, quietness, and being in touch with nature. Particularly, I would love to have a cottage to go to where I could just sit back, relax, meditate, and enjoy the sites and sounds that nature has to offer.
I could see myself in my little cottage, tucked away in a glen in Ireland or England,
where the scent of flowers and the rich green grasses are intoxicating.

Or, I could spend a summer tucked away in a small
beach front cottage, where the lake air and gentle
breezes would soothe my soul.
Nothing huge for me, no,
just a little space to call my own.
I can easily see me sitting on a deck or sun porch,
with only the sounds of the waves kissing the shore,
and birds singing to me all day.

Just little.  Just for me,
and my spirit.
What would be your special space?

I love your photos and ideas of the perfect cottage! I felt that same yearning so many years ago when we lived on a growling street in town. So now........I am in my own happy country cottage/home. I can not imagine ever going back to the noisy little neighborhood we lived in ever again. I hope you find your peaceful cottage!

Although I love where I am at now..........your third photo is so appealing! I would also love to have a cabin like the one in the movie " On Golden Pond". Hope you soon can find your peaceful cottage!

I believe we are kindred spirits, Laurie! I love each and every photo and could not agree more with you! In the last three or four years I have pictured myself living in a little weathered art studio cottage with a view of the sea, a few flower boxes outside, a cat, a dog....maybe a farmer's market or organic shop within walking distance so I could buy my fresh produce. Of course if I lived over the pond, I would dearly love to live in a thatched roof cottage in England or Ireland! Ahhhhhhhh, isn't it wonderful to dream....

And if I could, I would come to visit you in your little cottage and we'd have tea!
Be a sweetie and thanks for popping in to see me.
